Making Man Soap

I made some man soap last night. My son wanted some soap that doesn't smell like girls. So, I got some fragrance oil that smells like Polo Blue.

First, I mixed up the lye and water and let it cool a bit. Then I melted the oils and butters.

Next, I dumped the melted oils and butter into a stainless steel bowl. Then I slowly added the lye water. Then I blend it all up.

It's ready to go!

I took some of the soap batter out and mixed blue color into it and then dumped it back into the bowl and swirled it a bit. then I dumped it all into the mold.

24 hours later...
I unmolded it, cut it and will let it cure for at least 4 weeks. It looks a little purple in the pictures, but it is blue.

Feeling the Love

I'm in 4 treasuries tonight, which is a record for me!!

Fresh From The Mold

I've been busy making CP soap this week. Here are a few I just cut today.

These are Plum Apricot and Geisha. Geisha smells so good! It is a blend of exotic white tea leaves with a sparkling accord of mulberry, fragrant mimosa, and plum wine. Notes of Peony and rare white flowers accentuate the heart of the exotic white tea. Whispers of airy petals and soft white musk round out this fragrance. These are Lavender Vanilla and Crème de Cassis - which is a luscious black currant-flavored liqueur enveloped with a froth of fresh cream.
I still need to cut the Lavender Vanilla then they're off to the closet under the stairs (AKA The Harry Potter Closet) to cure for 4-6 weeks.

Babies in Booties

I've been patiently waiting for my new molds. I was so excited when I finally got the package this morning. I ran off to the kitchen to make soap and they turned out so cute!
This one is a baby in a ruffled heart: This is the baby girl in a bootie. It is so detailed, I am amazed I made it!!
Here's the baby boy in a bootie:

Brownies!!

My aunt told me to ask my grandpa how he liked his Christmas present. I know my mom gave him some soap, I just didn't know which ones other than a set of denture soaps. Well, I asked him how he liked his Christmas present. He said it was awful!! In the back of my mind, I'm thinking what a jerk. He went on to say that he got all situated at the computer with his brownie, unwrapped it and took a big bite of it. My mom had given him a brownie soap and he didn't read the label! I couldn't stop laughing..

CP Soap

I'm always amazed at the beautiful CP soaps I see on Etsy. After months and months of reading all I could about how to make CP soap and taking a class on it, I finally attempted to make it myself. These three batches turned out the best! I still have a lot to learn and a long way to go before I can sell them, but I've been using them myself and I have to say, they are great!

This one is a whipped soap in ginger lime scent: This is a shea-mango soap in Love Spell Scent:
This one is a sunflower-sweet almond oil soap in Rise and Shine scent:

I Know I'm A Little Late But...

Happy New Year!!

I'm usually so happy at the end of the year, to be able to put an awful year behind me and start new again. This time it was different, 2008 was such a good year, I was sad to see it go.
