New Soap and Bath Teas

I got the cutest mold the other day. It's a little baby angel in an egg. Isn't it cute?
I also made some bath teas for my long soaks in the tub! They're made with oatmeal and dead sea salts. This one is Red Hibiscus and Acai. It smells so good. It's my favorite.
This one is Chamomile:
This one is lavender. I use this one before bed. It's very relaxing!

Sad, Sad Day

All weekend I promised my son a root beer float from A & W if he was good. He was! So, we got in the car and went to get it only to find that A & W packed up and closed over night! Now I'm going to have to find something else to bribe him with.

As if that wasn't bad enough, I then went to Sonic to get us Cranberry Vanilla Sprites and they were out of Cranberry and Sprite!

New Reed Diffusers, Soaps and Bubble Bath

I listed some new stuff in my shop. My sister took the pictures of the reed diffusers for me while we were up camping. Isn't she nice? Of course, she wanted one in return!

More Yummy Soap!

I only bought 2 bars of soap on Etsy last week (but this week will be a different story). This time I bought from Burnt Mill Candle & Soap. I ordered Strawberry Cheesecake and Honey Coco Mango. I could smell them as soon as I opened my mail box.
I opened the box and they smelled so good. I even got a little sample of Cherry Cola soap ~ my boys loved that. They've been bugging me to order them some. So, I ordered Cherry Cola and Blue Raspberry Icee....hopefully those will keep them happy for a while:-)
I am using the Strawberry Cheesecake one and I love it. My whole bathroom smells sweet after my shower.

Camping

I sort of went camping. I went Wednesday night and came back last night. That was long enough for me! It was very pretty and green but cold! I couldn't take the cold. We saw lots of animals ~ mostly elk and turkey.
I got home around 11:30 last night. I openend the front door and I hear the voice of my alarm (which I didn't set before I left.). I tried to turn it off but forgot how so my alarm went off. The alarm company called asking for a password and I had no clue what it was, so they sent the police over. After proving to the that I do indeed live here, they finally left and I took a shower and crashed out.

My First Giveaway!

And the winner is ........Jo Whitehurst!!

For my very first giveaway, I picked soap from my favorite soap shop on Etsy, Bare Bumm Bath. So far, I've bought 45 of her soaps. I give them away as gifts, my poor little college student sister snags them for her and her friends and my kids take them. Everyone who has tried them loves them! I love the way they lather (I love lots of bubbles!) and they leave my skin feeling so soft, I rarely need to use lotion. Once you try these soaps, you'll be hooked!

To enter, visit Bare Bumm Bath and then come back here and post a comment by June 5th with the three soaps you would like to try. On June 6th, I will put all the comments in a bowl and have my son pick the winner. I will then post the winner and I'll need an address and have 3 wonderful soaps sent to you!

Here are just a few of the available soaps from Bare Bumm Bath!

Kukui Nut Oil

Several weeks ago I bought some Kukui Nut Oil. I absolutely love it! My favorite oil used to be Macadamia Nut Oil, but Kukui Nut Oil beats it by a long shot. I've made lip balms, lotions and cremes and even shampoo with it. It is great and my skin, hair and lips have never been softer.

What is Kukui Nut Oil??
The Kukui Nut tree is the state tree of Hawaii. Kukui nut oil is cold pressed from the nut of the kukui nut tree. Hawaiians use it to protect their skin. When used in lotions, creams, ointments and balms, it lays down an emollient layer of lipids. It is readily absorbed by the skin and has been known to provide effective relief from the symptoms of eczema, psoriasis, dry skin and acne.

Happy Memorial Day

Memorial Day always makes me think about my Grandpa. My grandpa was in the Army and fought in World War II. He was part of the group known as the Bushmasters. He didn't talk about it much at all so I don't know a whole lot about what he did. I do know that he spent most of his time in New Guinea sleeping in fox holes. That was pretty much all he ever said about it.

Growing up, I always thought it was weird that my Grandma and Grandpa has their own rooms. I found out later it was because if my Grandpa was asleep and you touched him, he would pin you on the ground! I guess that was one of the effects from the war.

He liked to camp and fish. He was a campground host for a long time and we'd go visit him every summer. I remember one year there were bears that would come into camp at night. One night one came into our camp and I remember looking out of the window of the trailer and seeing it right there. Then my grandpa got up, in his long johns, and went out and scared it away. At the same time there was a sonic boom. So, I don't know if the sight of my grandpa in his underwear or the sonic boom scared it away, I just know it never came back! Then he took us fishing and my sister and I went off on our own a ways. I was fishing and I looked up and across the river were three black things. I took off screaming "bear". When I finally made it back to my Grandpa, he went to investigate and came back and told me they weren't bears, just three black cows. From that day on, no one in my family calls a cow a cow. It's a Kaylee Bear!

Shortly after my Grandma died in 2004, he found out that he had lung cancer. The doctor gave him months to live. Almost two years later he was still going strong. Then in July, 2006, I called him and he sounded like he was having trouble talking. He told me that he was having trouble swallowing. I told him to get to a doctor right away. He did. The cancer had spread to his brain. He went to hospice and he appeared healthy and alert until his last 2 days. He died peacefully on September 12, 2006. He was 90.

Here he is proving that a 6 1/2+ foot man can fit into a little sports car:

I Took My First Jelly Bath

I had this Jelly Bath that I bought a while ago and after a long day of babysitting the little monsters, I decided tonight was the night to use it. I filled the tub half full with hot water and sprinkled some in. I waited a few minutes then stirred it up with my hand and then slipped in. It smelled good, I got Herbal Mint, but it felt like I was soaking in a tub of snot! It had the consistency of snot. There was snot all over me! I started grossing out at the thought of snot, so I stood up and snot was clinging to every part of my body. It was seriously the grossest thing I had ever used. I added the dissolution (stuff that dissolves it so you can drain the tub) and hopped into the shower to wash the bath snot off of me. That was the biggest waste of $24 ever. I'll stick to bath salts from not on.

Never Answer the Phone While Sleeping

A few weeks ago I was fast asleep and the phone rang. I don't remember much about the phone call except it was my brother. When he calls and I am awake, I don't pay much attention to him. I pay even less attention to him when he wakes me up with a phone call. Apparently, I agreed to watch his kids for him today. All 3 of them. I have to watch them until their mom gets home from Laughlin. I don't know when that will be. I think today just might be the day I go crazy:-)

New Stuff

I made my Lil Green Soap Invaders with Olive Oil Soap base and different scents. There's now a set with Galactic Grape, Cosmic Cherry, Orbit Orange and Blast-Off Blueberry Scents.I also made some shower gel and foaming hand soap.

One More Hour

Unlike some mothers I've seen crying on the first day of school, I cry on the last day of school. I'm sitting here crying right now. My kids get out of school for the summer in less than an hour:-( Don't get me wrong, I really love my boys, but they drive me crazy!! All they do is play video games and fight. Summers here are terribly hot (over 100 degrees!) and the boys are cooped up in the air conditioned house all day unless they are out back playing in the water.

My 7 year old is playing baseball this summer and he has 3 games a week for the next month. My 12 year old didn't want to play baseball this year, he would rather sit around and play video games and text girls on his cell phone all day.

Hopefully, I can survive the next 11.5 weeks!
